Our Pinellas barrier island towns all have unique features. When residents embrace and promote their town’s character, lifestyle enjoyment and property values will increase. “People love to vacation where people love to live”.  Madeira Beach is a little fishing village near the middle of our 27-mile barrier islands. The beach has little erosion because of “groins” which keep the sand stable. More grouper pass under the John’s Pass bridge than anywhere in the world. Our marinas are poised for upgrading to world class. Our village is getting old so we’re replacing tired, flood prone homes with affordable, net zero energy ready, storm proof beach cottages. Owners of these old homes can replace them with no money down financing, to give them equity when they want to sell or lifestyle betterment if they want to stay. When we improve our towns from the ground up, we promote controlled development at all economic levels. To view a sample of the type of affordable homes now being built go to BeachLifeProp.com.

Madeira Beach has 2 new developments coming which will provide a downtown destination for residents and visitors. New small hotels on our beach and marinas will keep the small fishing village ambiance. Every other town on our islands can create its own atmosphere to offer variety to residents, snowbirds, visitors and investors. Visitors paying bed taxes will keep property owner’s taxes low. Replacing tired old houses will increase everyone’s equity.

My primary aim for our beaches is to create focus groups in each town to discover their unique characteristics and exploit??? them for everyone’s life betterment. I believe that our barrier islands have more potential for environmentally protected, controlled, sustainable growth than anywhere in our country. Think improved water quality, regrowing destroyed seagrass beds, preventing beach erosion and carbon neutral towns and communities where everyone feels welcome to visit or reside. If you would like to be part of town development focus group, contact me. We could begin with Tierra Verde, Pass-A- Grille, St. Pete Beach, Sunset Beach, Treasure Island and Madeira Beach and then move north to Clearwater Beach. All big ideas begin with a small thought or idea. Let’s grow our future from the ground (sand) up!
